The IUP Research Institute is a nonprofit organization and proud affiliate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with the mission to advance the research agenda and educational objectives at IUP.  Created in 2002, the IUP Research Institute’s focus is to provide exceptional customer service, foster an environment of teamwork, trust, and a commitment to excellence for its customers and employees.  The IUP Research Institute facilitates all aspects of externally funded grants and contracts on behalf of IUP faculty and staff.

We currently have exciting openings for research administrators with a desire to enhance the research capabilities of IUP.   Positions exist within pre and post award divisions.  The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of all phases of sponsored research including the federal guidelines and regulations (OMB Circulars, FAR, etc).  The positions will work directly with the Principal Investigators and will have the following primary responsibilities: 

• Identify funding opportunities
• Manage the proposal development and submission process in accordance with agency and institutional protocols 
• Edit proposals for format, clarity, grammar, RFP compliance
• Develop budgets, budget justifications, and other proposal and institution requirements in accordance with agency and institutional protocols
• Manage several concurrent proposals simultaneously while prioritizing according to deadlines
•  Participate in activities to enhance sponsored research activities
• Manage all relative post award activities in accordance with all applicable protocols and guidelines 

The successful candidate will posses the following minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Experience managing multiple tasks or projects
• Experience in sponsored research administration
• A working knowledge of OMB Circulars A-21, A-110, A-133 and the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced Microsoft Office and other relevant computer skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule; self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented; and ability to self-prioritize activities to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
