We had major discussions
related to the Intellectual Property section before submitting a proposal.
We ended up detailing our plan in the IP portion of the application -
essentially, we indicated that we would allow them to have the rights in the
developing world.

Several universities, some private and some public, have received
funding through this program. I am curious as to your position on the
website terms and conditions to which the investigator must agree (on behalf of
his employer or himself) in order to register and submit a proposal. We
find some of the terms objectionable and wonder how other schools are
reconciling the need/desire to submit versus the general contractual things to
which you would normally not agree. Once funded the grant doc is not too
bad. HOWEVER, the terms from the website flow through in some cases to
supplement the grant terms.
Would we be better off if we just clicked the "I agree" button and stopped
reading all the "stuff" behind it?
