Job Summary: The Director of Grants and Contracts Management will provide overall
leadership in research administration at Vanderbilt University Medical Center
and establish effective partnerships between the institution, faculty, public
and private funding agencies, and the business and industrial communities
within the state and the nation for the Office of Grants and Contracts
Management. Position is responsible for the operations and administration of Vanderbilt University Medical
Center's pre-award and
non-accounting post-award activities for grants, contracts, and other
agreements from external sponsors. Operations include proposal submission;
contract and award negotiations; electronic research administration, and
compliance with institution, local, state, and federal regulations. Develop
best practices, policies and procedures while implementing continuous quality
improvement, monitoring, and educational efforts for the GCM staff and its
constituents.
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelors Degree preferably in business,
accounting, public health care, education, business, or math and 8 years of
experience including management in academic research administration,
specifically in pre- and post-award sponsored programs administration along
with previous personnel management of 5 years strongly preferred.
