We have the same timeframe here: five business days.  See our OSP Policy and Procedure Manual at http://www.wssu.edu/WSSU/GraduateStudies/Office+of+Sponsored+Programs/OSP+Policy+and+Procedure+Manual.htm.

Subject: Re: [RESADM-L] Grants.gov lead time survey

Jennifer,

While I did not participate in the survey, we at UofL just combined our deadlines for paper (previously 3 days) and electronic (previously 7 days) to 5 full business days for all proposals.  This alleviates the problem as you state it and reduces confusion of the PI.

A few weeks ago, I posted a request for information on what campuses

require for lead time on Grants.gov & other ERA submissions.  Here is

the compiled data.  As you might expect, we are all over the map in

what

we require.  Our current policy at UMA is to require 4 working days

with

the completed PureEdge file - but we do not have a similar lead time

requirement for any other electronic (or hard copy, for that matter)

proposal.  This is causing us some issues because we may have the G.g

proposal for four days, but if each day we get a FastLane (for example)

proposal walking in the door for that day, we must push aside the G.g

proposal.  We are working on getting everyone to acknowledge the effect

that has on those investigators who give us the time we need and

require.  Discussions are onoing!

Thanks to everyone who responded.  Very helpful indeed.
