- The Manager of the Office of Sponsored Research is responsible for
providing oversight and strategic direction relevant to the Institutes
pre- and post-award grants administration processes and policies which
includes ensuring compliance with Institute and federal policies and
regulations. Using project management, business and leadership
skills, this position will manage, develop and maintain the
infrastructure required for rapid and technically accurate grant and
federal contract application submission. The Manager will ensure
grants administration services are consistently available to TGen
investigators.

- Job Requirements
- Reporting directly to the Vice President of Research Administration,
the Manager is responsible for the overseeing the grants administration
function, which includes researching funding opportunities, determination
of eligibility, technical and budget development of the proposal,
proposal submission, subcontract negotiation, coordination with the
finance office on post-award financial matters, yearly monitoring of
grant progress and budget, and closeout at grant completion in accordance
with funding agency requirements. The Manager, OSR supervises the
daily activities of grants administration staff and is responsible
for ensuring their continuing education and training.
- The Manager is responsible for developing monthly reports,
tracking grants submitted, sorting submitted and funded applications
using a variety of standard parameters or by request for specific
parameters for example by investigator or funding organization. The
Manger also tracks dollars submitted and awarded in total and from
various funders for vital factor reporting to ensure the Institutes meets
its targets and goals with regard to grant applications.
- The Manager will develop and participate in training programs for the
TGen faculty relevant to developing and submitting grant
applications.
- The Manager, OSR will be responsible for budget development and
tracking expenditures for the Office of the Vice President of. Research
Administrations which includes the Research Compliance Office and the
Special Projects office.
- The Manager will coordinate with Research Compliance to ensure all
grant applications meet federal regulation requirements for human subject
and animal work. In addition, the Manager will oversee routine
coordination across the Office of the VPRA regarding all matters relevant
to proposal development, budget and office expenditures.
- The Manager must work collaboratively with Principal Investigators
(PIs), external sponsors and appropriate offices of affiliated entities
on matters related to grants administration.
