Grant Proposal Specialist

This is a new full-time position in the SDSU Office of Research & Sponsored Programs and reports to the Associate Vice President for Research. The Grant Proposal Specialist will assist SDSU faculty and staff with development and preparation of proposals for external funding, including electronic application submission. She/he will become versed in pre-award research administration and with all relevant policies and procedures associated with research and sponsored projects.
 
Earned Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and three years related experience required. Candidates shall be able to work independently, possess effective oral and written communication skills, interpersonal, organizing, and collaboration skills, and computer proficiency. Relevant work experience in university research or research administration, knowledge of compliance issues, and writing experience preferred.
 
SDSU is a land-grant institution and the state's largest institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 11,000 students. SDSU is located in Brookings, South Dakota, a community of approximately 18,800 near the east central border of South Dakota on Interstate 29. The city has an excellent K-12 education system, is accessible to major medical facilities, has an active cultural and social environment, and has numerous lakes and parks within driving distance. It is 50 miles north of Sioux Falls, the state’s largest city.
