We have had some leadership changes at our institution and questions have arisen over the value of offering general grant editing assistance—helping develop a clear and compelling proposal that conforms to the guidelines of the funder.  Such assistance is a large part of what I do, though I never try to actually write the proposal, and always make clear my service does not replace, only augments, review of a proposal by someone with expertise in that particular field. .  Quantitative measures of success I find hard to develop, as obviously proposals may be rejected for any number of reasons.  In short, any suggestions on how I might justify my job?  Sorry if this topic has been discussed a lot in the past—I’m new to RESADM-L.  Thanks, Greg (DeL)
