II do not pay them using an hourly rate - but, in trying to determine percentage of time, I do loosely look at 40 hours a week as full time for a faculty with 20% being the equivalent to one day or to 1 three credit course as 5  three credit courses (or the equivalent) per semester is considered full time for a nine month faculty.

Seriously, do you actually use hourly rates for faculty and how does that fit with your activitiy or effort reporting which should be on a per cent of effort?

Isn't it always 173.33 per month regardless.

For calculation of hourly rates for 9-mos. academic year faculty, how many hours do you use?  Similarly, how many hours do you use for calculating an hourly rate for a 12-mos. faculty appointment?
