Carolyn,
Continuing Education is still education...so I would think you could make a case for many opportunities involving education. Restrictions may come into play if program restricts ages of 'student'...but the base of sponsors is still more plentiful than the Dept of Education (thanks be to God!) . And there may be opportunities geared specifically to older folks...or you can also call it 'training'.
My 2-cents at 5p,
Terri

Subject: [RESADM-L] Grant programs for continuing education?

Dear colleagues,

We have a continuing education department that has expressed an interest in obtaining grant funding. Other than some of the adult education, skill-retooling type grants, is there anything in particular for continuing ed? I realize this is a pretty broad question and the answers will depend on how our continuing ed department functions. I am trying to get clarification on whether they function like a department or a semi-autonomous institute, but if you have any ideas in the meantime I'd appreciate them.
Many thanks.
