Florida Gulf Coast University seeks a full-time Pre-Award Grants Specialist who will be responsible for pre-award activities, to assist FGCU faculty and staff in the acquisition of funding from external sponsors in the form of contracts, grants, or cooperative agreements, and for the general operation of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.
Responsibilities will include:
Specialized Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma and five years of appropriate pre-award research administration experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and two years of related pre-award research administration experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Office computer applications including Windows, OUTLOOK, MS Word, Excel and FrontPage; excellent written and verbal communication skills; familiarity with submissions systems such as NSF FastLane, grants.gov, GMS, PHS 398; familiarity with OMB Circulars A-21, A-110, and A-133; ability to work in team environment; self-motivated; sufficient maturity and judgment to work in highly sensitive situations within the context of external regulations, university policies, and legal constraints; and ability to direct faculty/staff to appropriate area for assistance.
