Reporting to
the Vice Chancellor for
Research, the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research
Administration and Compliance (AVC-RAC) is responsible for providing
administrative support for extramural funding of research and for ensuring
campus compliance with federal, state, and university regulations pertaining to
research administration. The
compliance activities presently
within this office
include human subjects and animal
protection and conflict of interest.
In addition, the
office of the AVC-RAC will be responsible
for the dissemination of information about funding opportunities for PIs, as well about opportunities to participate in inter-institutional collaborations.
Qualified
candidates for this
role will bring sound experience in
pre-award, post-award non-financial, and compliance processes in a major
research university or significant academic or research institute. The candidate must have a proven
record of success supervising staff
and identifying and engaging resources in a complex, decentralized environment,
and must have demonstrated experience
leading successful organizational transformation to achieve consistency of
service, orientation to clients or customers, and operational efficiency.
The ideal
candidate will be someone who
can develop and sustain a balance between a high
level of client service, an
equally high level of
operational efficiency, and a culture of informed,
self-directed
compliance with institutional and
sponsor regulations.
