Can everyone who is interested in a copy of the manual send Vonnie an e-mail to her own address rather than to the entire list?
Thanks! Here’s Vonnie’s e-mail address: xxxxxx@umresearch.umd.edu

I, too, would appreciate a copy of the manual. We have not begun grants.gov training yet.

Theresa-
UM has been giving training sessions since last spring. Our schedule is
posted on our website and we refer folks to that.
http://www.umresearch.umd.edu/ORAA/workshops/grantsgov_training.html I am sending you some files to your email address that I use in the workshop. After going over the
software install, and explanations of the face page and the "help" tool
in PureEdge I show them sample completed apps that went to DOE, NOAA, NIST, Dept. of Ed, SBA so they can get a feel for the different kinds of forms they may encounter. I spend a good bit of time discussing the 424R&R budget forms that DOE uses now. We have also created a secured website where PI's can upload their application package for ORAA review so I go over that process with them as well. Training can usually be completed in about 1.5 hours. So far attendance has been pretty good andwe are starting to get more faculty in our training sessions.
I adapted the Grants.gov manual to suit our needs (condensed it a lot).
Will be happy to share that with you as well. Just let me know.Vonnie

Right now we've assembled some information on our website
and are meeting with investigators who plan to submit this way...
but it's difficult to organize some generic training in a workshop setting
due to the fact that the various agencies require various forms and methods
of submitting the application materials.
I'm hesitant to do a general workshop showing one set of screens, only
to have the faculty member see a different set when they prepare the
proposal.
Organizing by sponsor is an option, but I've seen different requirements
that way too.
Previously, assistance on a case-by-case basis has worked...but with more
agencies
using Grants.gov... training for a wider audience is needed. Any ideas ?
As always, thanks,
Terri
