I have a scientist who states:

"I seem to recall hearing that at some point during the last decade while I was living in Denmark, congress passed a law requiring that data collected as part of federally funded research grants be collected or stored in such a way that it could be "repurposed", i.e., mined later for other purposes. I'm not even sure such a law passed - I just have vague recollections about a discussion of this topic. Note that this is not HIPAA, nor is it ISO 900x, nor 21CFR11 - it's something different. The reason I'm interested is that I want to check out whether there have been any recent developments in the areas of best practices in data management."

Can anyone help me out on this one?

Thank you
