The University of Nebraska Medical Center solicits your ideas and
nominations for the position of Grant and Contract Specialist. This
position has been created to facilitate the research climate at UNMC by
assisting faculty and administrators through negotiating industry contracts
and developing policy, procedures and systems for handling negotiation,
implementation and close-out of awards. Specifically, this position will:
(1) serve with a contract team to negotiate contracts with industry as well
as federal, state, and other sponsors, (2) assist the Director and
Assistant Director in creating systems and tools to support contract
negotiations and grant applications, including development of policies and
procedures, (3) support the educational initiatives of SPA.

The ideal candidate would be thoroughly familiar with Federal regulations
and policies relating to sponsored research administration as well as
policies of other major non-federal health related sponsors. Experience
developing policy and procedures would be highly desirable. A Bachelor's
degree and two years of relevant contract negotiation, paralegal or
sponsored programs experience is required.
