We are not a University, but we also have grant hires and a zealous HR department. 

Yes, they set the salary – it has to fit within PHI’s Title & Pay Plan.

Yes, they approve the job description and title – for the same reason.

Qualifications and suitability are set and approved by the manager of the department and, ultimately, by the Vice President he or she reports to.

Does your human resources office:

 

--set the salary for grant positions?

 

--approve the job description and title?
