Position Title:                                       Grants Coordinator (Grants Manager) (Req. #000891)

 

Position Description:              Office of Research Services and Sponsored Programs. The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive, informed support and management of all sponsored activities within the assigned units.  The position is responsible for the oversight of over $5M in sponsored research funds annually, and as such, requires working knowledge of federal, state, private and university policies and procedures.  The incumbent will work directly with faculty from all disciplines and will interact on a regular basis with federal, state, private sponsor and university personnel and will represent the university's compliance structure through these interactions. The Grants Manager will assist faculty in the development, submission and management of funded projects, including: budget development, routing and approval of submissions, award negotiation, approval of expenditures on grants and contracts, and close-out monitoring. 

 

Minimum Requirements:         Bachelors’ degree in accounting, information technology, or scientific field and one or more years’ experience in research administration; working knowledge of federal, state and private regulatory and policy requirements;  ability to negotiate contracts and to interpret guidelines and other sponsor-specific documents; demonstrable database skills and accurate, detail-oriented work skills; excellent communication skills; ability to work independently; ability to prioritize workloads to meet deadlines; ability to prioritize and to anticipate problems; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.

 

 Preferred Qualifications:        Masters’ degree in accounting, information technology, or scientific field (CRA preferred); demonstrated experience in all technical aspects of submitting and managing grant and contracts; ability to work with diverse populations.

 

Salary Range:                         Minimum $35, 484 to Midpoint $44, 342
