SENIOR GRANTS AND CONTRACTS OFFICER

Georgetown University Medical Center

Office of Sponsored Research

 

The central office for research administration at the Georgetown University Medical Center has a post-award (exclusive of accounting) position available, for a seasoned grant and contract officer.

 

The officer is responsible for negotiation and administration of extramural awards from government and industry, drafting subagreements, consulting arrangements and any necessary legal documents that might be required in connection with such awards. The Sr. Grants and Contracts Officer will establish the restricted accounts in the University�s financial information system, maintain accurate data on all awards in the University�s information systems and communicate this information to all parties with a need to know.

 

The Sr. Grants and Contracts Officer is the University�s official liaison with external organizations in regard to sponsored agreements.  All communications pertaining to award agreements must be approved or authorized by the Sr. Grants and Contract Officer.

 

Potential candidates must have a BA or a BS in an applicable field.  Experience using Microsoft Office required, as is the ability to do budget analysis.  Knowledge of database management programs a plus. Equally important is the ability to perform in a deadline-driven, high-pressure environment, and the ability to interact successfully with many types of personalities.
