Description of Basic Duties: The Senior Grant and Contract Administrator is responsible for proposal review through award close-out for a wide variety of sponsors. Specific duties include proposal and budget preparation and review; negotiation of awards including administrative, financial and legal terms; establishment and administration of subcontracts; post-award financial administration including review and approval of award expenditures, compliance with agency requirements, obtaining sponsor approvals, all tasks necessary to close grant/contract accounts; participation in new systems development; produce management reports; participate in site visits and audits; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with Principal Investigators
Knowledge and Skills Required: Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor’s degree required, and up to five years of experience in sponsored programs administration including grant and contract negotiations with government and industrial sponsors in an academic environment. Applicant must have knowledge of Federal government and private agency regulations and policies. Excellent oral and written communication, financial and negotiating skills are required. Ability to work effectively at a high professional level. PC environment. Applicant must be able to work in a team environment.
