Accountant Fiscal Analyst II/Senior Accountant
Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
which includes 15 semester hours of accounting and two years of related
experience. Five years of grant accounting experience may be substituted for a
bachelor's degree. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles, practices, and
theories of accounting. Must know and apply the compliance requirements for
contracts, grants, and cooperative agreements. Must understand and be able to
operate electronic spreadsheets, word processors, and computerized accounting
systems. Will provide the University of South Carolina Research Foundation with
staff-senior level accounting services. Duties to include: reviewing invoices
and other expense documentation for accuracy and completeness, updating
accounting systems and record expense records. Analyzing expenses and preparing
sponsor invoices for contracts, grants, and cooperative agreements. Following up
discrepancies and adjusting as needed. Monitoring program account activities
applying knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Adjusting
accounts as needed. Ensuring activities are recorded in accordance with
generally accepted accounting principles. Monitoring cash receipts and accounts
receivable; initiating and following up on collection actions on accounts
including past due accounts. Processing collections, preparing deposits,
reconciling bank statements; coordinating with university faculty and staff to
