Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP)
is seeking applications for a Pre-Award/Post-Award Implementation Specialist
(two-year initial appointment with renewal contingent on funding). IUP, a
Doctoral I institution enrolling over 13,000 students and the largest of the
State System of Higher Education universities, is located in Indiana, PA and is
65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. Grant and contract development activities
support all academic and administrative divisions on campus. In AY 1999-2000,
229 new proposals were submitted, requesting funding of $24 million and
resulting in 139 awards of $11.2 million.
The Pre-Award/Post-Award Implementation
Specialist is a new position in the Office of Grants and Sponsored Research. It
is the intent of the office, with the creation of this new position, to provide
a continuum of services from proposal inception through project management.
Post-award facilitation, contract review and acceptance, and proposal
development will be the responsibilities of the successful candidate.
Responsibilities will include serving as point of contact for funded faculty who
are navigating the grants administration process, assisting project teams and
faculty with primarily non-financial aspects of project management, matching
funding opportunities with faculty interests, and developing proposals and
proposal budgets. The position reports to the Director of Grants and Sponsored
Research. Position includes competitive salary and excellent

Bachelor's degree required. Prefer five years of
grant-related experience in a university environment, which may include proposal
development, budgeting, and project management. Excellent interpersonal,
communication, and computer skills desired. The successful candidate will have
the ability to work in a cooperative and fast-paced environment. To become a
