Position: Director of Sponsored Programs
Requirements (Degree/Experience): Master�s or Doctorate.
Demonstrated experience in preparing proposals to public and/or private
funding sources. Experience in post-award administration of grants
and contracts. Knowledge of government regulations and principles
applicable to grants and contracts. Knowledge of resources (including
electronic ) for identification of funding sources.
Demonstrated outstanding oral and written communications, organizational,
interpersonal and supervisory skills. Experience in an academic
setting preferred.
Responsibilities:
Director reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Graduate School
and Research. Major responsibilities include managing all aspects
of the pre- and post-award contract and grant administration and writing
major university-wide grants. Director also provides advice,
counsel and administrative support to the Faculty Development Board and
the Institutional Review Board. Director will expand the level of
sponsored programs support for the University, assist faculty and staff
in identifying and securing grants, and establish and maintain effective
relationships with government funding agencies, foundation and
corporations, as well as campus faculty and staff.
Starting Date: February 1, 2001, or negotiable
Salary Range: Competitive, based on
