Position provides University-wide leadership for the development of
externally funded grants and contracts and the administration of related
research services and compliance issues.  Also provides leadership by
planning and implementing resource procurement strategies in support of
university initiatives.  This includes working with selected faculty groups
to develop competitive proposals for multi-year funding and assisting in
developing and maintaining federal and corporate relationships that will
foster such funding.  Essential skills:  knowledge of proposal writing and
grant budgeting; strong record of previous involvement in research
activities; knowledge of federal government research policy as it relates
to higher education; knowledge of principles of research funding and
strategic planning; skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in
writing; skill in proposal preparation of all types; and skill in planning
and executing solicitation strategies.  Ph.D. is required in a
research-related field.  Full-time administrative staff position.  Salary
is commensurate with education and experience.  Full benefit package
