Columbia University is recruiting for an experienced Java programmer to
join our project team in the development of our new research administration
system (RASCAL).

Description: The incumbent plays a leading role in the design and
development of Columbia's research administration systems (RASCAL); designs
and develops web based Java applications; mentors staff in object oriented
analysis, design and Java programming; works within a project team
environment.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science. A
minimum of four (4) years' progressive technical experience, or a
combination of education and experience, required. Minimum of two (2) years
experience in developing object-oriented applications or frameworks
required, preferably in Java. Mentoring or related
leadership experience required. Experience with Java and object modeling
required. Web development and relational database experience preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills essential. Must be able to
work as part of a diverse team.
