Director of the Office of Grants and Contracts, University of Houston
The University of Houston is seeking an innovative and experienced director
to fill this key administrative position.  The Director of the Office of
Grants and Contracts reports directly to the Vice Chancellor/Vice President
for Research and Intellectual Property Management and will play a major role
in expanding the level of extramural support for research at the University
of Houston. The Director will manage a professional staff responsible for
processing all proposals and awards for outside funding in support of
research and scholarly activities and will act as liaison between faculty,
university offices and sponsoring agencies on research-related issues.
Responsibilities include the review of federal statutes and regulatory
documents to determine steps for institutional compliance and to monitor
developments with federal, state and private agencies and foundations.
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree; a Masters of
Business Administration or equivalent is preferred. A minimum of five years
of relevant, executive level experience is required with proven
administrative, organizational and analytical skills. Although a law degree
is not required, it is preferred that candidates have legal experience with
the ability to negotiate. Experience in data analysis and electronic
research administration is desired.
