Region I - Annual Meeting Louise Griffin 14 May 1999 09:29 EST
> Today is the cutoff day for the Holiday Inn by the Bay. All unused rooms in
> our block will be returned to general inventory. Don't delay, please call
> 800-345-5050.

The workshops and sessions are filling up fast. The topics range from OMB
Circulars, time and effort reporting and cost sharing to NIH and NSF Updates to
ERA issues. Hands-on computer labs at the University of Southern Maine
(located around the corner from the hotel) will provide training for NSF
FastLane and surfing the NIH/NSF websites. Dr. Pamela Miller will conduct a
session on "The Grants Game." Come learn about this unique and fun way to
teach people the do's and dont's of grantsmanship.
If that's not enough to entice you, then come and listen to Dr. Jay Buckey
recant his experiences in space. If you want to explore, the city of Portland
is simply beautiful. The Holiday Inn overlooks the Portland Harbor and is a
short walk from the Old Port, the heart of downtown shopping and dining.

Look forward to greeting you in Portland.
