Director of Technology Transfer position available Judy Fredenberg 27 Jan 1999 10:22 EST

The University of Montana invites applications and nominations for the
position of Director of Technology Transfer.  The Director reports directly to
the Vice President for Research and Development and coordinates all patent
and commercialization of intellectual property.  Additionally, the Director is
responsible for all technology transfer activities, including maintaining
federal,
State, and local compliance in University technology transfer-related
activities,
processing potential conflicts of interest, and interinstitutional activities
involving these areas.  Anticipated start date is 7/1/99.

Candidate must have an advanced degree in an academic or professional field,
or equivalent experience, and at least five years in industrial or academic
positions with a combination of documented experience in technology transfer
activities and negotiation and licensing activities.  The incumbent must
possess
good oral and written communication skills, be able to work with purpose and
composure in a busy environment, and possess good interpersonal skills.
Experience in research and/or academic classroom activities is highly
desirable.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
