Jennifer - At UT - El Paso we have been having "Notice of Award" meetings
with our PI's. At the time of award, we set up a meeting to discuss the
terms and conditions of the award, how to process documents within the
university, cost-sharing, time and effort issues etc. We do a more
extensive interview with new PI's and give them a small "handbook" on How
do I? (appoint personnel to my grant, buy equipment ...etc.) The PI signs
off on his "Notice of Award" form that he has received the award document &
conditions and understands and accepts the grant and its conditions. This
has proved very successful and helpful to our PI's, as well as providing us
with documentation at the time of audit that our PI's are informed. Would
anybody be interested in hearing more about this? Claudine Riccillo
