Residency-based research productivity Smucker, William 15 Oct 1998 16:31 EST

I am a faculty member in a family practice residency of a
community-based, university-affiliated teaching hospital.

The infrastructure (personnel, equipment) necessary for our residents'
required research projects is funded by our hospital's research
foundation. As research projects proliferate and more residencies
require research, the foundation is forced to consider ways to
prioritize funding for research. They are asking for suggestions
regarding the best ways to evaluate research productivity and 'return on
investment' for research done by faculty and by residents.

Are you aware of policies, position statements or other pertinent
resources?

Thanks in advance
