ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF SPONSORED PROGRAMS /
 PREAWARD SERVICES

The UNC Research Corporation (UNCRC) is seeking a dedicated and
highly qualified person to serve as the Assistant Director and to
provide preaward services.  UNCRC provides services to the University
of Northern Colorado to assist research and scholarly activities.

Position responsibilities include: direct oversight of some personnel;
extensive interactions with faculty and administrators; monitoring and
maintaining files on resources; conducting electronic searches for
funding sources; and presenting workshops on resource identification
and proposal development.  Extensive knowledge of governmental and
private funding resources is required.

Applicants must have at least eight years of research administration
experience in an academic setting, with an emphasis on preaward
functions.  They must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
experience.  Salary will be commensurate with experience.  This is a
full-time, 12 month appointment with a starting date of January 1,
1999 or as negotiated.

and qualifications can (1) contribute to the internal administrative
management of the UNCRC; (2) promote preaward services throughout the
university; and (3) help increase external funding.
