Required Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree and three years management
experience related to sponsored grants and contracts in a university
environment; current knowledge of the relevant application and compliance
requirements of a variety of sponsor agencies; competence with personal
computers for office operations (PC); demonstrably excellent interpersonal
and communication skills ( a team player); demonstrably highly motivated,
energetic individual who can quickly learn complex new tasks.  Additional Q
ualifications Desired: substantial experience in pre-award sponsored
programs management; strong capabilities in Excel; employment experience
at LSU or a comparable institution.  Responsibilities: assist a team
responsible for coordinating review of grant and contract proposals, and
for ensuring that proposals and other documents are managed in accordance
with University and sponsor requirements; work with faculty to ensure
compliance with various requirements, and to direct them to funding
sources; field a wide variety of queries on sponsor and university
procedures; other duties as assigned.  Salary range is $27,000 to $35,000
annually.  Application deadline is September 11, 1998, or until candidate
