Research Admin Certification Angela Bridwell 09 Jun 1998 03:08 EST

Hi,

I know this topic has been discussed in the past, but I would like to get
some opinions about becoming certified in research administration.

I recently received a mailing about becoming a certified grant specialist
level I and there are some additional levels of grant development
certification that one can obtain. This is something co-sponsored by the
National Grant Writers Association and the University of South Carolina at
Beaufort and involves attending a 5-day workshop in Hilton Head, SC. Also,
I have seen information about the Research Administrators Certification
Council, which also provides certification.

I would appreciate any opinions about the usefulness and credibility of
these programs and any information about experiences others have had in
becoming certified in the research administration/grant writing field.
Please feel free to e-mail me directly, if you prefer. Thanks.

Angela
