Hello fellow Research Administrators.  I have been asked to post a opening
in our office.  For those of you in the cold north you might want to take a

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
OFFICE OF SPONSORED PROJECTS
THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN

GRANTS AND CONTRACTS SPECIALIST

Monthly Salary Range:                   $2652 - $2825

Date Available:                                 Immediately

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.  Three years of experience negotiating, preparing and
processing grant and contract proposals.

Preferred Qualifications:

More than three years of experience in pre-award grants and contracts
management.  Demonstrated knowledge of federal grant or contract
regulations.  Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication
skills.  Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with computers.

Purpose of Position:

To negotiate and process proposals for research grants and contracts
including assistance in locating sources of funds.

Functions:

Processing research grant proposals by assisting researchers in preparing
budgets and agency forms.

Reviewing sponsor program announcements, requests for proposal and other
documents.

Negotiating proposals with sponsoring agencies.
