EUNICE KENNEDY SHRIVER CENTER
FOR MENTAL RETARDATION

in a part-time position in research administration.

 The Office of Research Administration at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver
Center for Mental Retardation in Waltham, Massachusetts is looking for a
part-time Grant Administrator.  The Shriver Center is a not-for-profit
service, training and research institute. Since the Shriver Center's
inception, exceptional programs have been generated through collaborative
efforts in clinical service, education, information technology, genetics,
and behavioral and biomedical  research. The Shriver Center's mission is to
answer questions about human development and to help children and adults
with developmental disabilities reach their fullest potential.

GRANT ADMINISTRATOR

Responsibilities:  The Grants Administrator will be responsible for
pre-award grant administration including:  Assisting scientists in
identifying sources of funding, providing information and guidance to
scientists on funding agency guidelines, assisting proposal preparation and
submission to funding agencies, monitoring compliance with funding agency
regulations, maintaining grant files and grant database file, and assisting
the Research Center Administrator on related administrative duties.  The
Grants Administrator will also be responsible for coordinating the human
subjects protocol review.

Requirements:  Bachelor's degree and 2 years research administration
experience required; knowledge of Federal government regulations and
polices with emphasis on NIH application process; experience with budget
development; skilled use of word processing, spreadsheet and database
software; familiarity with use of the Internet;  excellent communication
and organizational skills; attention to detail; and ability to work
independently.
