Mississippi State University invites applications and nominations for
the position of Sponsored Programs Administrator.

The Sponsored Programs Administrator serves as a member of a team of
professional staff who provide university-wide leadership in the
development and administration of sponsored projects.  The position
will report to the Director, Office of Sponsored Programs.

Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:  reviewing proposals submitted
by faculty, staff, and administrators in targeted areas of the
university; ensure that proposals are in compliance and follow
policies and procedures established by Mississippi State University
and the sponsoring organization; negotiate on behalf of the university
sponsored agreements; prepare subcontracts, consulting agreements,
non-fiscal monitoring of active sponsored agreements; and
participating on appropriate university committees and project teams.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) and 2
years experience in a sponsored programs or related office.
Excellent interpersonal skills, strong computer skills, and
experience in work settings requiring multiple assignments and
managing priorities. Knowledge of federal contracting regulations and
policies is also required.

Compensation and Availability

Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience (expecting
high 30's).  Applications will be accepted through September 15, 1997
