POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

TITLE:          GRANTS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST for Research Information
 Systems
(AS# 5321)

CATEGORY:       Associate Staff, full-time, 12-month appointment

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assume responsibility for full-range of research
administration duties, with a major emphasis on electronic information
management.  Areas of responsibility include coordinating a digital
records conversion project, grants development, and proposal review.

QUALIFICATIONS: Baccalaureate required and at least three years
experience in similar work demonstrating increasing levels of
responsibility, and ability to work independently.

Must have knowledge of Database use and records management; Internet
skills such as: HTML, FTP, Gopher and e-mail; grant development
processes; principles of research grant and contract terms and
conditions, and ability to negotiate intelligently with external and
internal clientele.

Should have excellent proficiency in communication skills, interpersonal
skills, ability to reconcile differing viewpoints, and ability to
function effectively in periodic crisis environments.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications, with excellent
benefits, including
tuition remission.
