CFDA Numbers -Reply JIM SIMPSON 05 Mar 1997 11:59 EST

Jim,

OMB Circular A-133, Section .400(d)(1) says that you must
inform each subrecipient of the CFDA title and number,
award name and number, award year, name of federal
agency, and whether the award is for research and
development. If you don't have all this information right at
your fingertips, A-133 says you should provide the best info
you've got to describe the federal award.

A-133 doesn't say you have to provide this information in the
body of the agreement with the subrecipient, although you
certainly could do so. I advise clients to put this kind of
information in a "recitals" clause at the beginning of
subcontracts.
