Grants Management Systems -Reply Mary Ann Jurgus 06 Jan 1997 10:31 EST

Extremely interesting question -- would you please share your
responses. I would be most interested in what is working out there!

We are in the process of assessing software solutions to various grants
management needs. (proposal tracking, project management, etc.) What
is becoming rather obvious in terms of post-award is that we may not
currently have "feeder" systems (i.e. Purchasing, A/P, Payroll, etc.) that
have appropriate interface capability, or an especially "grant-friendly"
general ledger system. I am requesting a response from those
individuals who feel they have a good (or reasonably good) grants
management (post-award) system.

1) What grants management system (software) are you using?

2) What general ledger accounting software does your institution use,
and how well does it interface with your grants system?

3) How well does your system handle encumbrances?

4) Other words of wisdom or warning?

5) May I (or a representative of our IS department) contact you? If so,
where?

Direct responses or list responses appreciated.
