Re: Mailed Survey Incentives: $2 Bills Barbara McKinley 19 Sep 1996 19:44 EST

Jayne - we have used $2.00 bills as incentives to attend our annual credit
union meeting for the past 10 years. I have never heard of this
superstition and we are all pretty sure that attendance would be next to
non-existent without them (the $2.00 bills). I also think, with as varied
a membership as we have, someone would have complained about the bad luck
rap, had it been a widespread superstition.

Hope that helps.

Here's a new one. I need to know if anyone out there knows what the
superstitions are regarding $2 bills. We do frequent patient surveys
(mailed) and for one upcoming one, we hope to enclose a crisp $2 bill as an
incentive to complete the survey. Some here say $2 bills are bad luck...
Why? (Serious replys only, please. I don't wish to contact the psychic
friends network, or anything.)

P.S. I never received the much coveted salary survey everyone wrote about.
Just trying to see if my job level is in sync with others in like positions
in the beautiful Midwest (Minnesota).
