list.  Very frustrating!

Intellectual Property and Compliance Manager

The Office of Research, Economic Development, and Graduate Studies at
Old Dominion University seeks applicants for a newly established
position.  Position responsibilities including fostering economic
development activities, negotiating intellectual property agreements,
 and reviewing proposed research activities for compliance with
federal, state, and sponsor regulations. The position will 1) serve
as a communications link between University and business entities
desiring to develop joint research/business relationships during the
grant award process; 2) participate actively in technology transfer
activities; 3) assist in matching University resources with
identified opportunities for research and economic development
activities; 4) participate in studies to identify future
technological opportunities for economic development and assist in
mobilizing the University's resources to position it for strategic
advantage; 5) coordinate and review proposed research activities for
compliance with federal and state law and with sponsor regulations;
6) serve as a member of institutional IRB committees; and complete
other related tasks. Special knowledge of intellectual property is
required as well as knowledge of contract law and familiarity with
compliance oversight.  Experience working in a university environment
is preferred.  A law school or comparable masters degree is
preferred.  Screening of applications will begin October 7, 1996 and
