Registering for FastLane Pamela Webb 17 Jun 1996 09:30 EST

To register for FastLane, you can download the Registration Form from the
FastLane server (http://www.fastlane.nsf/gov/), sign it, and send it via
snail mail to NSF at:
Division of Information Systems, Room 455
 FastLane Administrative Staff
 National Science Foundation
 4201 Wilson Boulevard
 Arlington, VA 22230

The form can be found under "FastLane Registration Info" at the bottom of
the FastLane Home Page. By registering, the instituion is agreeing to
assume management for PIN numbers for its faculty and for institutional
users. There is no obligation, however, to use any or all of the FastLane
functions (though you will want to once you have tried them!)

I agree with all of the other comments that have been posted on this list -
FastLane is a great tool, easy to learn, and very useful. My guess is that
you will find the proposal status inquiry and the institutional reports
features immediately helpful.

For those of you in California, I would invite you to join the California
FastLane Coordinators group (CFC). This group consists of Fastlane
Coordinators at various institutions within the state who are interested in
helping to write end-user instructions and sharing implementation
strategies. Please send me an email if you are interested in joining this
group.

If you need help from NSF on FastLane, all of the following people are
extremely helpful:

Dan Hofherr (xxxxxx@nsf.gov)
Carolyn LaLumiere (xxxxxx@nsf.gov)
Bill Kirby (xxxxxx@nsf.gov)

Good luck! -- Pamela Webb
