 I am currently recruiting for a new position on the City of Hope's
 Research Administration team -- ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR.  The
 incumbent will be Director of the Office of Sponsored Research and
 will also serve as the primary right-hand person/backup to the Vice
 President for Research Administtration (VPRA).  Responsibilities
 include:

 --Direct supervision of contract, grant, and clinical trial
 agreement pre- and post-award activities

 --Responsibility for reviewing, revising, and/or creating
 institutional policies and procedures relating to research

 --Development of the Research Administration Information Management
 System

 --Representing the VPRA on committees and in other venues as
 necessary

 --Assuming additional responsibilities and/or undertaking special
 projects as necessary

 The ideal candidate for this position will have (among other
 qualifications):

 --extensive, up-to-date working knowledge of federal contracts and
 grants rules, regulations, etc.

 --experience as head of an administrative unit in an academic
 environment, preferably one that includes a medical center
 conducting clinical research

 --strong computer/MIS knowledge

 --exceptional analytical, human relations, and communication skills

 --a national network of colleagues in relevant administrative
 fields
