Policies on Treatment of Whistleblowers Joann Cahill 02 Jun 1996 17:33 EST

In November, 1995, ORI issued a guideline policy for dealing with
retaliation of whistleblowers. Apparently this was sent to all
institutions as an example of what ORI would consider to be a model
policy which satifies PHS policy in regard to treatment of
whistleblowers. I have a copy now but did not receive anything
directly from ORI. Did anyone else get a copy of the guidelines from
ORI? I'm trying to determine whether there was an official
distribution of the guidelines that we somehow missed out on.

Also, I'd be interested in any policies that you would be willing to
share on this. We would like to set something up more formally and
are looking at the ORI guidelines as well as those in use by other
institutions. If you have an institutional policy for handling
retaliation against whistleblowers that you think works well I'd love
 to get a copy.

     Thanks.
