SPONSORED PROGRAMS OFFICER

Boston University Medical Campus invites applications for the position of
Sponsored Programs Officer within the Office of Sponsored Programs.

The successful candidate will join an organization with an annual award
volume of $85 million from approximately 1000 proposals.=20

Responsibilities: The Sponsored Programs Officer is responsible for=20
proposal review and some award management duties for a wide variety of=20
sponsors. Specific duties include proposal and budget preparation and=20
review; negotiation of awards including administrative, financial and=20
legal terms; establishment and administration of subcontracts; partial=20
post-award administration including review and approval of award=20
documents for compliance with agency and university requirements,=20
obtaining sponsor approvals; participation in development of new systems;=
=20
produce management reports;
participate in site visits and audits; establish and maintain effective=20
working relationships with department grants managers; act on behalf of=20
the supervisor as required.

Qualifications: Bachelor=D5s degree in field related to business or finance
and three years of experience in sponsored programs administration
including grant and contract negotiations in an academic environment. =20
Research Administrator Certification preferred.

Applicant must have knowledge of Federal government and private agency
regulations and policies, including NIH Grants Management and the Federal=
=20
Acquisition Regulations and supplements as they relate to major=20
government contracts.  Excellent oral and written communications,=20
financial and negotiating skills are required.=20
Ability to work effectively at a high professional level. Personal
computer (MAC preferred) experience with database, word-processing and
spreadsheet applications are required.  Applicant must be able to work
in a team environment.
