SPONSORED PROJECTS OFFICER

ASU seeks a Sponsored Projects Officer to work with faculty and
university personnel to identify external funding sources for research
projects and work with federal/state agencies, foundations, and
industrial firms to locate local, state, national and international
prospective sponsors for customized proposal targetting.  Will assist in
proposal development; review budget, business and compliance issues;
develop/negotiate grants and contracts; administer subsequent awards;
advise project directors on financial management issues and resolve
problems with project directors and sponsors.  Must maintain a current
knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to proposal/grant
contract requirements and restrictions, as well as private sponsor
requirements.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 4 years experience in
any combination of the following areas: Procurement (federal, state or
industrial), proposal submissions, grant or contract administration,
financial administration.  Applicants must demonstrate strong
interpersonal and communication skills.  Any equivalent combination of
education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and
abilities have been achieved.   Prefer strong negotiation skills,
knowledge of computer applications and information dissemination
technology, and skill in budgeting and financial analysis.  Anticipated
salary range: $31,000-34,100, DOE.
