Subject: Duplicate Messages

Rebecca,

The reason you are receiving duplicate messages is you are subscribed
twice to the list. This is a common problem that occurs when
people change email addresses. Generally when people change email addresses
their systems are configured to FORWARD mail that comes to the old address
to the new address. So, if you then subscribe under your new address
you end up with mail being sent by RESADM-L to your new and your old
address.

Another reason some of you may be having this problem is when we were
under BITNET, you may have had to define a specific gateway address
that is still operating, even though we are now on internet

Rebecca, your two subscriptions look like this
 BACON%xxxxxx@CUNYVM.CUNY.EDU Rebecca B. Bacon
 xxxxxx@PICARD.EVMS.EDU Rebecca Bacon

I assume it is the PICARD address you want to keep active?

Anyone else having this problem should contact me directly

PLEASE remember, if you change EMAIL addresses unsubscribe using the
OLD address and then resubscribe under your new address--it will
save me a lot of work manually going back and eliminating subscribers
who are subscribed twice.

Thanks
