Research Committee Approval Process GLENN 617-638-5098 12 Jan 1996 17:26 EST

I am a member of a committee at Boston University Medical Center charged with
redesigning sponsored research administration so that it is as easy and
efficient as possible (while still complying with federal regulations, of
course). As one aspect of this, we are looking at the process by which
principal investigators apply for and receive approval for using vertebrate
animals, recombinant DNA, human subjects, laboratory biohazards, and radiation.
We would like to gather examples of the forms and descriptions of the process
used by other institutions. I would be very appreciative of any information
you are able/willing to provide by snail mail, FAX, e-mail, or internet address
if you already have a home page which includes this information for your
institution. If any of you have already participated in this kind of redesign,
I would be interested to hear about your experience. Thank you!
