An ill-founded rumor has apparently circulated via the
Research Administration Discussion Group about the Special
Competition for the National Conversation on American
Pluralism and Identity. I would like to correct the
mistaken impression that the Nov. 24 application deadline
has been cancelled. The November 24 application deadline is
a valid deadline for the final round of this competition.
The program is not being "abandoned" as suggested in an
article in the latest Chronicle of Higher Education, but
this is the final deadline for a year-long Special
Competition, as previously advertised. If there are any
further questions, please call Virginia Field or myself
at 202-606-8272. Or you can reach me by e-mail
 at xxxxxx@neh.fed.us. Thank you.

Note: this message was posted by a colleague; I am not a
 member of this discussion group.
