************ We are developing a WWW home page on our server with links to
our on-line services for faculty. We have a full-time computer analyst on
our staff who is doing the technical work, and who is working closely with
me in selecting and organizing the information that we maintain on-
line.

Because many faculty do not have the computing power to access the Web, our
text resources are maintained under Gopher menu structures, but the WWW
page provides a front end for those that prefer it. In addition, different
information can often be found at WWW and Gopher sites, so our hybrid
approach seems to offer the best of both worlds.

If you would like to look at our home page, point your browser to:

 http://www.osr.lsu.edu

 (Gopher: pc1.osr.lsu.edu)

Please remember that our WWW system is still under construction. We still
have a number of links we know we need to add. I would also appreciate any
suggestions for improvements others might have.

Best regards, Charlie.
