Wright State University invites applications for the position of Director, Offic
 e of
Research and Sponsored Programs.  The Director provides leadership for a team of

research administrators and support staff responsible for developing and
administering externally funded grants and contracts, overseeing sponsor and
university regulations regarding research, financial, and compliance activities,

negotiating with external sponsors, administering internal funding programs, and

advancing technology transfer.  The Director reports to the Associate Provost fo
 r
Research.

Wright State is located in suburban Dayton, Ohio, a region of technical innovati
 on and
accomplishment.  The University enrolls approximately 17,000 students with nearl
 y
4000 in graduate and professional degree programs including those leading to the

Ph.D., M. D., and Psy. D. degrees.  Annual sponsored project dollar volume of ov
 er
$23 million has been increasing each year.

Candidates for the position must have a master's degree and a minimum of ten yea
 rs
professional experience with at least five of these in a comprehensive sponsored

programs office and must qualify for a security clearance.  Experience should in
 clude
both pre-award and post-award sponsored project activities.  Familiarity with
intellectual property and technology transfer issues is preferred.  The successf
 ul
candidate will exhibit strong managerial, supervisory, and interpersonal skills
 as
well as the ability to work enthusiastically with creative professionals and com
 plex
programs.
