IRB Turnaround Len Paplauskas 15 Mar 1995 17:27 EST

I would greatly appreciate answers to the following questions, as they apply to
as many institutions as possible.

A. What is the average turnaround time for IRB reviews?

B. What is the period of time between "deadline" and IRB mtg.?

C. How long, after the IRB mtg., does it take to send out paperwork, e.g.,
 approval letters?

D. How many IRBs does your institution have?

E. How many active protocols does your institution manage?

F. What is the size of your institution's IRB staff?

To get the ball rolling, at UCHC the answers to the above are:

A. 4 weeks
B. 3 weeks
C. 2 days
D. 1 IRB
E. Approx. 600
F. 1.5 fte

I will, of course, summarize the results of this survey and post them to this
list, so feel free to send any responses directly to me, so that we minimize
traffic on the list. If you wish to maintain anonymity, please indicate that
in your response.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Len
